Inspired by more traditional midwestern themes, as well as Alaskan Native themes while on my trip to Fairbanks, AK. I was inspired to make a design that not only embodied the feeling of cities like Fairbanks, Juneau, and Wasilla, Alaska, but giving it a more modernized feel to the infamous woodcarving designs found within Alaskan Native art. All while still keeping the grittiness and ruggedness still expected from a commercial fisherman.
