Introduction
Overview: "The Landline" is a magazine editorial created by Abion Stevens and I. It is a personal project dedicated to bridging the connection between the University of Houston Sugar Land (UHSL) and the main Houston campus, with a special focus on the Digital Media program. This publication highlights the latest developments, student achievements, and industry insights, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Through compelling storytelling and dynamic visuals, The Landline serves as a platform to showcase innovation, collaboration, and the impact of digital media in today’s world.

What I did
As students our process began with in-depth research to understand the identity of UH Sugar Land and its role within the greater University of Houston system as an extension of main campus. We held meetings with faculty, students, and members at the Sugar Land Town Hall to explore the city’s community initiatives, gain access to historical and contemporary photography, and understand how UH students can be more involved in the area’s development. Abion led the research and conceptual framework of the magazine, providing the ideological foundation and intellectual direction that shaped its core themes. I took charge of the magazine’s visual identity, illustrating and designing the layout.
